What comes to your mind when you hear say Portofino?

At an instance our imagination brings us back in time to the Beau Monde of the ’30s through the ’40s, to become the symbol of the Italian La Dolce Vita in the ‘50s. You can imagine how the tiny Portofino bay was filled with yachts of internationally known celebrities, like Liz Taylor, Truman Capote, Clark Gable, Dukes of Windsor, Prince Ranieri with Grace Kelly, Ernest Hemingway, Evita Peron, Eva Gardner, Greta Garbo, Sophia Loren…

A vivid image that is dominated by the elegant charm and exclusivity.  Few spots in the world feel more luxurious than this seaside fishermen town. This all makes Portofino a perfect backdrop for a stylish Italian Rivera wedding.

From the very start Aimee and Raymond knew they wanted their Italian destination wedding to be in Portofino. Wisely accompanied by Distinctive Italy Weddings, the couple visited various venues but only after viewing the spectacular Belmond Splendido, they looked no further. This legendary, luxury hotel built on the cliffs of the Portofino Bay is one of the most panoramic wedding venues on the Italian Riviera. The view over the turquoise waters are mezmering and the hotel’s service is just exquisite.

The plein air ceremony was held on the magnificent terrace overlooking the bay, while the reception in the glass enclosed verandah reserved the guests the same view on the night Portofino. Aimee and Raymond chose a palette of ivory throughout the event – the florals were gorgeous – a mixture of peonies, orchids and roses.

Candle lit multi layer cake under the floral arch was just a perfect coronation of this Mediterranean colored wedding in a fairy-tale setting.
